ScatteRgories
I came up with a health based lesson geared towards health terminology and the development of critical thinking.
I made a Scattergories inspired activity on SmartNotebook that requires students to roll a letter dice, and in a given
amount of time answer words based on prompts provided. This worked as a whole class, and student went over answers
in their table groups (3-5) students to score themselves. Students were actively engaged and wanting to play again and again!
It was a great way to stimulate the students brain and get them thinking creatively.
Scattergories is a great way to promote critical thinking is children. They must relate to the categorization of information
and come up with multiple options in each category. Since duplicate responses will not score any points, an important
part of Scattergories is anticipating the responses other players may write down.
Below is a download of "Ms. Harding Health Scattergories" that can easily be modified. Included is a time on each screen and a letter dice.
