So.... how is critical thinking defined?
The main goal of critical thinking is to help students take on any task or problem with an open-mind and to look carefully at the various options. This will help guide student to come
to reasonable conclusions based on careful assessment of relevant factor. Being insightful and thinking deeper into things presented in school is was teachers can promote in the classroom.
It is suggested that the word "critical" is a synonym for "criterial". To think critically, is to think in light of or using criteria. Thinking critically allows students to be engaged in deliberations with the intent of making a judgement based on appropriate criteria. Critical thought involves inviting students to assess and explore the components of various options, before reaching a conclusion.
